Charlotte’s a busy place. Here’s the best of it.

🎢 A couple of months ago, I got sent a TikTok from a local Charlotte influencer saying that a great way for girl to meet guy friends in Charlotte is by going to rec Softball leagues throughout the week. According to a couple friends who were playing at the time, this video had a real impact, resulting in packed bleachers for evening Softball games this past fall.

As I pulled into my double-header this past Monday night (we went 1-1), I was glad to see that the bleachers only had a couple of our friends in them. As a below-average hitter and an average 1st baseman, the less people watching me play the better. As far as my teammates, the way they’ve been hitting lately, I’m sure they’d agree. However, we’re figuring it out one game at a time and looking to make a deep playoff run come May.

Charlotte Rodeo?

‼️Remember my anonymous source that gave me the tidbit about the false lane closures near Uptown? Well, she mentioned that I had to include rodeo taking place this weekend, so here are the details.

The 7th Mint Hill Rodeo takes place this weekend, April 25th and 26th. With only $15 tickets and $5 for kids under 12, the main event takes place at 8pm both nights. I’ve never been, but supposedly it’s a good time for young folks and families alike!

Most people in town know about Reid’s Fine Foods, whether from their spinoff restaurant, Salted Melon, their sandwiches in Uptown, or using their bathroom when the line is too long at Selwyn Pub.

However, the best part about Reid’s is their marinated chicken. If you’re cooking/grilling for your family, a group of people, or just want some awesome marinated chicken for meal prepping, go to the Selwyn Ave. Reid’s and pick up some marinated chicken. You really can’t go wrong with any of their marinades, but their Spiedie, Southend and Sweet Heat have been staples in my family for years. Grilled or pan-seared, you can’t go wrong.

• CLT Lifting Club has their Grand Opening tomorrow with music, food, cold plunges and a raffle for a free membership. At $89 a month, this is a super affordable gym compared to some of the absurd rates popping up in CLT.
